To Minion, or Not to Minion, that is the question

I was on the train home today, staring out the window, listening to Eve 6, and the urge came over me to make new Blog Minions. Yes, I think about my blog whilst I commute. That’s not odd, is it?

Minion Button

Anyway, there are three new Blog Minions I would like to introduce you to:

The Brainy Snail, for taking care of me and making sure my brain didn’t explode before todays interview. So not exactly blog-related, but as she didn’t get a proper introduction for her previous Minion-contribution, I figure she deserves a little paragraph now. And trust me, managing to make me calm this afternoon was no mean task! Gibbering wrecks had nothing on me. Everybody, wave at the Brainy Snail.

Jay, for being brave and sharing a cheesecake recipe. That, and his little squirrel/beaver/rodent avatar makes me grin every time I see it. See, it doesn’t take much to be made a Minion. Be nice to Jay people, he’s new to Bright Meadow (at least, he’s only just started actually commenting). We don’t want to scare him away.

Crazy. Ah, Crazy. How can I not make someone who blogs under the name “Crazy” a Minion? He can generally be relied upon to say nice things in comments, so that’s a plus too. That, and he keeps asking to be made one. Way I figure it, if you want something that badly, who am I to deny you the pleasure? Say ‘hello’ to Crazy. I’m sure that straightjacket is just a fashion statement…

Now, being a Blog Minion can mean whatever you want it to mean. I don’t ask you to do anything – it is simply in recognition of the fact you are jolly good eggs, and people who have made Bright Meadow that little bit brighter 🙂 If you want to take the button back to your own site to proclaim your Minionhood (and make a handy link 😉 ) (if you even have your own site), please do so. If you want to completely redesign the button, please do that also. If you don’t want to link back, again, that is fine by me. I just want you to know that I appreciate you.

The full list of Blog Minions can be found here, as can a fuller explanation of what Minions are.

  1. Hello Spooky, long time no see 🙂
I am very sorry – Askimet took a dislike to you for some reason. Evil Askimet. I have sternly taught it a lesson.

That does indeed look rather silly. I’m going to save to have a look at it after work – something to look forward to 😀

  2. happy to be a blog minion! thanks Cas – you brightened by Funding-Application-Dull morning!

  3. I am starting to see that , despite my initial misgivings, being a minion is a badge of honour.
When my new top secret project is sorted (!!!!!!what top secret project, you ask… well, its top secret, so I can’t tell you yet) I really should get round to putting a minion badge on me blog.

  4. Er…
    *blush*
    Remind me?

That and involve yourself in my life in such a way that I mention you (at least in passing once or twice) in blog posts.

Just as being a Usual Suspect doesn’t automatically make you are a Blog Minion, being a Minion doesn’t (necessarily) make you as Suspect.

Ah, who am I trying to kid? If you comment regularly enough on the blog you basically are involving yourself in my life. Which makes you a Suspect…

Basically, that list is always going to lag behind reality. I need reminding to re-write these things. Appearances to the contrary, I am only human.

(Though you are now a “suspect” as well now RIB)

  5. hey! excuse me!! Just looked at your list of minions in “vaguely chronological order”, how come I’m only 4th on the list missey?? Particularly as I know for a fact the Cute Canadian didn’t even read your blog for months. If you think I’m sulking through ER you’ll know why. :annoyed_tb:

Note to other minions and suspects: I can say things like that to her cos she knows I don’t mean it really, and anyway who’d want to sulk through ER when they get Goran Visnijc? :clap_tb:

  6. I did say vaguely chronological order. And… Um… No, there is no way out of this. I’m pretty much down to ritual suicide here.

(Note – she wasn’t sulking through ER. Goran Visnijc was mighty mighty fine).

  7. 😀

    Thanks Cas.

“dropped off the radar”? Couldn’t get in touch with you was more like it. :p

  8. YAY!!!! I am a minion… I would just like to stop and say “Thanks to Cas, Thanks to my parents – without them this would not have been possible, my friends, Apple – my iMac has helped me through so many struggles… etc etc etc”

Sorry I have been that active either, spawned with coursework on “The comparision of the Reactivity of Halogenoalkanes using hydrolysis where Nucleophilic substitution occurs…” and that is just the title… *sigh* I can’t wait to drop chemisty at the end of this year!!!
Also, would like to thank Brainy Snail and Jay on their acheivements as well :P. Thanks for the welcome to the group everyone
    Thanks again Cas.

  9. My pleasure, I assure you Crazy. If ever I was in doubt, your sheer glee at being made a Minion reassures me that you are worthy to be one.

    🙂

  10. Woah! Hi Everyone! Thanks Cas! I almost did miss this as I’ve been out of touch with the blogosphere for the past week or so (been working on something over on TagWorld.

It’s nice to be recognized every now and then! 🙂
