I love my job

I love my job.

It’s not every day you get asked (very politely) by a gentleman if you would like to participate in a survey and inspect his instrument.

The poor dear looked very disappointed when I declined his kind offer.

As I said, I love my job – you meet some amazing people (along with the odder ones) and you are never sure what is going to happen next πŸ˜€

  1. I have to admit I was mildly curious as to what would happen next, but alas my time there was up. The days when we visit the drop-in centers do tend to be good: it’s almost guaranteed that something odd is going to happen.

It’s a prison visit next Monday, which will be fun.

As I said, I love my job. I really do get to go some weird and wacky places, and meet (and work with) brilliant and passionate people πŸ˜€

  2. I started a new job at the start of October – my team works with offenders, those on probation, and youth offenders to get them into education, training and employment.

Everyone’s doing the job because they care about it, not because of the money (there isn’t much money!) and it is such a change from my last couple of soul-destroying “you’re doing it because it pays the bills” jobs. It’s nice to go home at the end of the day and go “I made a difference today” even it was only for one person. It’s a good job πŸ™‚

  3. It is quite cool. For once a job I won’t be ashamed to talk about at the Family Christmas Gathering this year! (Though don’t tell my Mum I’m visiting prisons – she’ll only start worrying).

My suspicions were that he wasn’t talking about a musical instrument, yes.

I couldn’t immediately see one secreted about his person – perhaps it was very small. A piccolo maybe?

  4. Some girls have alllll the fun….. ;P
Dear, it was a kazoo, of course. Even I, innocent as I am, know that.

totally off the subject, but… any of you peeps from the UK who want to join a world blogging community? I’ve been scrolling around on there and find it a great idea. I’ve already learned a lot….it’s at http://topics192.blogspot.com/ and it soooo needs some good writers! hint hint.
