I think yes.
You got stuck in spam, I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry! I have told Akismet off.
And people seem split on this. No one can decide!
I wondered what had happened — I was sure I had replied but then I didn’t see my answer. That explains it!
Hey! I said this on Twitter but for uniformity of response: I reckon it should have an “s”. Common usage is my argument, plus speaking rhythm, but also because people may have one or two or three mortgages (lucky buggers) all with the same bank, or remortgages. Also, I don’t have a mortgage but I wonder if there is more than one “need”? Like, it gives you the money to buy a home, etc. but are there any other attributes that come with it like mortgage protection, life assurance as a standard clause, etc. thus making the needs plural. Have no idea, just considering it!
Lalalaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I do love a good grammar discussion.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Wish I had more to add, but you’ve pretty much summed up every argument I could possibly make. Knew you were the right one to ask!
(p.s., thanks for commenting on the blog as well! xxx)
