Quotes of the Indeterminate Time Period Till I Find a Better Ones:

  • Stay dark. Dark works too.
  • … It’s like poking a grizzly bear sleeping in your back garden with a pointy stick…
  • “Geeks run the world. Condoleeza Rice is a geek, Bill Gates is clearly a geek, many or the big filmmakers and writers are geeks, lots of military people are geeks. Anyone who has heard Donald Rumsfeld talk about military hardware knows they are in the presence of a geek. Geeks use their powers for good and for evil.”

– Christmas is over for another year. Now all I have to look forward to is the credit card bill. Ouch.

I am back in Soton as of (checks watch) three hours ago, which means that yay! Shiny high speed internet connection! Yay! God I am sad, but having been home in the land that broad-band forgot (aka the Homestead) for the last week, I can really appreciate the connection in my flat. I’ll do a round up of the year later, for now, just glory in me being back home and accessible via email 🙂

– This is just going to be a quickie as I’m in the middle of the nightmare database assignment from Hell.

Films watched: Kill Bill 1 & 2, The Increadibles, The Merchant of Venice, America’s Sweethearts, Stargate, High Fidelity, Bourne Identity.

Episodes of West Wing: The entire of Series 4. I know, I know. My resolve weakened, then disapeared entirely yesterday. It was either databases, or West Wing. You do the math. Only thing is – I can’t wait for series 5 now. I want to know what happened! One minute Bartlett, the next, John Goodman!

Baking related incidents: A batch of char-grilled rock buns (& burn on hand) due to someone leaving a pile of scank in the bottom of the oven. I have my theories who is responsible *narrowed eyes*

Days the Flat Alarm has failed to wake me at 8am sharp: zero.

Trailers watched: too many to count. I’ve been going through the Quicktime site when bored…One that does stick in the memory is the one for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I won’t inflict the link on you because the song is just EVIL but Johnny Depp is also rather disturbing. They’re billing this film for families. Perhaps they should hand out sleeping pills and the number of local psychiatrists at the end of showings.

– It’s December! Wow, I can’t believe that this year has gone so fast. I know there is still a month to go before 2005 rolls around, but I had to put Jan 2005 on some coffee yesterday as the BBF, and that was kinda scary.

If any of you have ever had a papercut (and if you haven’t, you freak!) you will know how painful they are. I have one on my right index finger just under the nail – box opening related accident at work – and it is making typing excruiating. Yes, I am going to keep coming up with random excuses (though this one is true), why the news is short/not been updated in a while. The old chestnut RSI can’t be used anymore due to shiny keyboard *strokes shiny keyboard*, so it’s up to my imagination now. Or my clutzyness.

And current clutziness rating = very very high indeed. Off to lectures now. Let’s see what I can spill all over myself today shall we people?

Oh, go to the Temple Ov Thee Lemur for a truly odd experience. Feral Furbies (Urban Fox Hunting). Tee Hee Hee as Kayt would say. This site is responsible for my entire Core Computing class thinking I am certifiable. Ok, so they thought that already, but my reaction to this site confirmed their opinion. I now have no chance with the cute canadian. Ah well. Toodles.

26-11-2004 – Another week has more or less finished.

Films watched: Bridget Jones 2, Oceans Eleven, The Cooler, Harry Potter 1 2 & 3, King Arthur.

Episodes of West Wing watched: Disc 1 & 2 of series 3, plus the weekly episode from series 4. (And very restrained I have been, seeing as how Series 4 on DVD arrived on my doorstep on Thursday…

Paper models made: Francis the Owl, Horatio the Dog, Sir Cedric.

Assignments completed: two thirds of Research Skills.

Assignments still to do: rest of Research Skills, Core Computing, Multimedia. Eeek.

Hours worked: far too many.

Books read: Phantom of the Opera, Da Vinci Code.

Headaches: one mamoth one, so I am going to bed now even though it isn’t quite nine o’clock.

20-11-2004 – Well so endeth the day from hell. Nasty NASTY customers! Grrr. Evil. Mean. One nearly made me cry. Grrr. So, I am going to curl up in bed, eat ice-cream, watch Harry Potter, and feel sorry for myself.

Jo has joined the web-community. Yay! A link to her home can be found in the address book. I also rediscovered Mittens & Snowdrop last night. Twiney goodness.
