I’ve noticed a curious phenomena – when I read in bed I have warm feet and am rarely cold. But as soon as I stop reading and turn out the light, I get cold. Is there any rational explanation for this, or am I just unusually odd?

its probably because you change your position after turning out the light, touching the non-warm parts of your bed.
How very… mundane.
Well, in that case, perhaps its those ice goblins I’ve heard tell of. Apparently, they were quite common in the Southampton area thousands of years ago, but were hunted to extinction. Recently though, there’s a bunch of academics who think that the ice goblins never really went away but took to hiding in people’s beds. They really get their kicks from chilling feet.
Now that is a suitable silly explanation. Congratulations 😀
